big-apple-con-2015Yesterday, we went to Big Apple Con in New York City. There was a totally long line to get in even though we got there 2 hours after it opened. We had to wait about 30 minutes to get in.

At first, it was hard to find comics. Dad says it’s hot, crowded and loud but I don’t really mind that. When you walk in, there were lots of people with tables, but no comics. But then when 20150307_140008we went upstairs there were a bunch of really cool comics and toys.

We were lucky and found an early Batman (#93). We also found a lot of new Flash comics for only a dollar.

I was searching for PopVinyl Bobbleheads to see if there were cool ones. I saw a lot of cool ones like Boba Fett, Jabba the Hutt, C-3PO, a minion from Despicable Me called Carl. I got a stormtrooper bobblehead. It’s on my kitchen table right now.

Then we went to look for some more comics and we found some good Action Comics and some good comics all together.

We saw Herb Trimpe (he drew early Hulk issues including Hulk 181 – the first appearance of Wolverine). We didn’t get to meet him at first, though. (Dad’s note: Check out Carl’s conversation with Herb Trimpe!)

20150307_171234There was lightsaber action, too, that was pretty cool. There were people dressed up like Jedi who showed us some cool Jedi lightsaber moves. (Dad’s note, they were from the Empire Saber Guild.)

It’s really cool. Believe me, you’ll like it when you get there. The next one is on December 5, 2015 (10 days before the new Star Wars!
