Spitfire Labs makes wooden art pieces that look like Nintendo controllers. They must be really skilled at woodwork because there’s a lot of detail and it’s very realistic.
They make them by using a laser to engrave the wood very carefully. Because they use lasers, the pictures they make are very precise and detailed. It typically takes them one to three weeks to make each one.
I found out about them at East Coast Comic Con. I have the Metroid Controller. On the front, it shows Samus with some enemy monsters, and on the back it shows Zero-suit Samus battling the boss.
They also make Nintendo cartridge art pieces and wooden tablets that have video game and movie characters or places on them, for example, BB-8, the Death Star – and my friend Jeff got the three-piece Back to the Future car set!
These would make great presents for people who like video games or movies or just really cool things! I suggest that for either Christmas or a birthday, you get someone these as a present – it doesn’t matter if they’re a kid or a grown-up!
